A WOMAN has been charged with animal cruelty after throwing an eight-month-old Staffordshire puppy out a window during a fight with a male friend.
Police said the dog, flung from a bedroom window in an apartment complex in Sydney's west yesterday, fell about 15m metres to the ground.
The dog was taken to the vet where it was diagnosed with a broken leg, broken teeth and suspected internal injuries.
The woman, 24, allegedly threw the dog while arguing with a man in the apartment.
She was arrested and refused bail. She is expected to appear in the Parramatta Local Court today.
Police said in a statement that the dog would remain in care and undergo further tests.
